I am looking for information about the family of Michael and Amelia Herner who show up in the 1900 US census, living in Townships 141-143, Ranges 85-87 in Oliver County. They arrived in USA in 1900, obviously in time for the census. At the time they had 8 children all born in Russia -- Anton, Rosa, Christina, Lizzie, Katharina, Philipina, Helen, and Julia. Does anyone know where specifically in Russia that Micahel and Amelia were living prior to emigration? Or Amelia's maiden name? I know many of the Hoerners / Herners / Hörners around Richardton came from Speier and district, Beresan. I am hoping the above Michael Herner family did not! Thanks for any leads. Merv Weiss |
